About Us
St Paul’s, is a lively Anglican Church
in the suburbs of West Warrington. You will find us opposite the Co-op
local store and the Crown and Cushion pub in Warrington Road, Penketh.
Sat Nav users put in: WA5 2RX In addition to
providing a modern-looking worship building (scheduled for rebuilding),
we own and manage a large community centre called “The Oaks” and a
smaller community building “The Manna House”, both a short walk from
each other. Further information on all these buildings and their
inter-generational use can be found on other pages of this web-site. Our aim at St
Paul’s is to provide all sorts of settings in which local people of all
ages can access and grow in the Christian faith, if they are so minded. “Alpha” courses
(for those seeking a deeper meaning to life) are provided regularly, as
well as “tea and toast” facilities for street wandering teenagers, where
we work alongside Warrington Youth for Christ. Older generations can
take advantage of the many activities at “The Oaks” and “Manna House”,
if reasonably mobile, and we regularly visit care homes if they are not!
We love to work with the other
10 Christian churches in the area and meet regularly to plan and hold
community events and summer festivals. In 2009 the festival and
associated activities lasted 5 days! A variety of church
services take place each week as well as mid-week groups. Click on the
bulletins link at the side of this page for weekly details At St Paul’s we
always try to put Jesus at the centre of our lives and our work, and so
we extend a warm welcome to anyone and everyone!
